No, no, no! Food and nutrition are not the same.

Food and nutrition are not the same, but they are related to each other. Food is eating. We eat because we are hungry or because we feel like it. Eating is a biological and social function. Nutrition is a biological process that happens in the body when eating.

Healthy and non-healthy eating

The unhealthy diet consumes a lot of ultra-processed food, red meats and is poor in fruits, vegetables, and legumes. In addition, bread, salt, sugar, and alcohol are eaten in greater quantity.

Diets can also be classified according to the foods consumed such as omnivorous, vegetarian, keto, and many more.

In the omnivore, all kinds of food are eaten from both the plant and animal kingdoms. It is the diet that is considered normal since, human beings are classified as omnivorous animals.

Vegetarian is the diet in which mainly vegetables, legumes, fruits, and seeds are consumed. Some people may also consume some dairy derivative or eggs and eliminate fish and meat from their diets.

Keto is an eating plan in which more foods rich in protein and fat are consumed, leaving aside carbohydrates.

Nutrition

Nutrition is the organic process of how the body processes what we eat. In this process the body looks for the necessary nutrients to stay well regulated.

Nutrients such as vitamins and minerals are essential micronutrients while proteins, fats, and carbohydrates are macronutrients. Eating a diet rich in micronutrients and macronutrients allows us to ingest all the essential nutrients that our body needs for its proper functioning.

Nutrition is an involuntary activity that the body performs through the food we choose to eat.

How to ensure good nutrition?

  1. Choose to eat a healthy diet

  2. Use nutritional supplements

Why use nutritional supplements?

To feed ourselves is to eat and we do it because we are hungry or because we feel like it. Food is a biological and social function that is determined by our preferences, choices, culture and habits. Which leads us to overeat or stop eating certain foods and consequently have an unbalanced diet.

Remember that our body, to function well, needs essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. And it is precisely to cover those nutritional deficiencies that the use of nutritional supplements becomes necessary.
